Terry is survived by his wife, Tree Black, who penned the following message:
Things to remember about our marriage, from January 16, 1990 to November 30, 2018 at 10 PM. When we got married, it was as cold as January 16th gets because it was blizzard time. We had no home of our own yet, we only had 1 plate, 1 spoon, 1 fork, 1 car, 1 recliner chair, and 1 box of macaroni and cheese to eat for two days. In spite of it all, we made it through all of the odds in life. Look at where we came from, and where we are headed, which is Heaven bound. Heaven is where you are now, and I don’t want to be selfish, but where you are now you can ask for all that you want of Jesus Christ and the Heavenly Father.
You had a funny side in life, and a very serious side of you too. Everyone knows that you were sick, and on some days you were sicker than others. So, our Heavenly Father finished that home for you up in Heaven and called you home so none of the children would suffer any longer. He picked you up and carried you home to His loving arms, and said “Peace my child. You ran the race willing and faithful servant, and I am well pleased. Now you don’t have to worry about anything anymore my son. I love all of my children, and I picked you out of many of them to come here with me, because I do really love you. I’ll care for your most beloved one, your children, grandchildren, your brothers and sisters, everyone who has ever met or known you. When people made you feel unwanted in life, rejoice in knowing that you are mine and I am yours. I am your only savior. As your Shepherd, I will always be here for you and my other sheep, because I am the Joy, Love, Peace, and Meaning, so come to me and let me show you how wonderful I can make you. I am the Mercy that is needed in this life. Come and say ‘I do need this in my life, forever. I’m in need of you, and I am alone.’ I will be with anyone who takes Jesus Christ as their Savior, and I will show them their new life. You are welcome in Heaven with me forever. Where I am, you will be also, the only thing you must say is ‘I am a sinner, for remission of my sins, and I really do need you,’ and I will be there for you. Believe in me for everything. Although you will say that you are not worthy of anything, but I am keeping score, and even with your past, if you do this I will be your Savior and there will be no more of anything. In this life, as the north, south, and east meet the west there will be nothing in your way anymore. I know there will be falls in this life, get up, brush yourself off, and do what I am telling you to do. In this life, do the work of Jesus Christ and the Heavenly Father, pray and read the scripture, because these are your road map to get back to me. If you do love me you will do these things in my name, which is Jesus Christ, and I will help you get back to your place in Heaven. It is not an easy task at all, but I will always be there for you, and I will never leave you. So now you will be one of my disciples from now until the end of time, when I return again from Heaven. Just say ‘Yes Lord, I will do this forever for you. I need you as my Savior.'”
Terry had 23 children, 70 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 17,000 Indian tribe grandchildren.
