Elsie Oakes left a message on July 12, 2018:
Sam always had a positive attitude and my Dad (Keith Gayler) was very fond of him. They went fishing in Florida with some others and had some fun stories to tell. I remember visiting Dad in Florida and Sam hosted a Fish Fry. Sam was kind and generous and had a great sense of humor. Sympathy and love to Helen and the family. Hugs from Elsie and Martin Oakes, North Carolina

It didn't matter when or where you saw Sam because you were always greeted with a smile and a "Hi". He enjoyed people and loved to talk. He happily hosted gatherings both in Rudolph and Haines City. His toy poodles regularly accompanied him on his tractor and sat with him in his chair. He will be much missed by me, a very new friend. My sympathy to his family and long time friends.
