Suzanne O’Neil of Lyons, Ohio passed away peacefully May 13, 2016 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 23, 1930 to Newton and Eva Smith in Wauseon, Ohio and they preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, William O’Neil, on July 25, 1953 and together they had 5 children. She loved spending time on Devil’s Lake and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was witty, funny and loved to dance to anything that had a rock and roll beat. She was member of the Devil’s Lake Yacht Club, teacher’s aide at Evergreen Elementary school, FCHC volunteer, and member of St. Casper’s Parish and the former Our Lady of Fatima Parish/Rosary Alter Society, Lyons, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Virginia Becker, and nephew, John Becker. Surviving are her children, J.T. O’Neil, John (Kathy Maher) O’Neil, Cathy (Jerry) Sullivan, Jim (Bonnie Potts) O’Neil, and Peggy (Jim) Hudik, 14 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, cousin, Margaret Clifford, sister-in-law, Bea O’Neil and many nieces and nephews. She was a second mother to her nephew, George (Janice) Becker III, and nieces Bonnie (Tom) Rashley and Connie (Jim) Geckler. A special thank you goes to Dr. Lawrence Elmer and Molly Scott at UTMC Gardner McMaster’s Parkinson’s Center, the Bixby Hospital ER and Dr. Ahlstrom, the very compassionate 3rd floor nursing staff and the loving staff at Gaslight Assisted Living. A memorial service will be held June 3, 2016 at St. Casper’s Catholic Church in Wauseon, Ohio. Visitation will be from 9-11am with a funeral mass and burial to follow.
