Margaret “Marge” Yambor of Toledo passed away on November 27, 2018 while at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. She was born on May 17, 1938 to A.V. “Archie” and Grace Fitzgerald. She grew up in West Toledo where she attended Ladyfield and graduated from Central Catholic High School. A teaching certificate was earned by Marge at Mary Manse College. She taught elementary school at St. Stephen’s and Gesu. In August of 1959 she married Theodore Yambor. They began a family and Marge became a stay at home mom. She returned to employment later in life at Flower Hospital where she retired in 2003.
Marge’s favorite vacation destination was Siesta Key where she spent most her time at the beach. Her kids referred to her as the “Shell Lady.” Her hobbies included working on crafts, arranging flowers, cooking, baking and seeking out bargains at the local second hand stores. All her children agree that she had the most beautiful handwriting of anyone they have ever known.
Throughout her three months dealing with her recovery from surgery and chronic medical conditions, Marge always kept a positive attitude and continued to make her family laugh. Her deep faith also carried her. She loved to quote her favorite scripture verse, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
She is survived by her children: Jennifer Schnapp, Julie (Denis) Multon, Mara (Doug) Agosti, Ted Yambor, Jr.; son-in-law, Ken Evans; and sister-in-law, Sue Fitzgerald; along with five grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Mary, brothers Vance and George, Ted Yambor, Sr., and daughter Andrea Evans.
The family will be remembering Marge in a private mass and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
Many thanks to all the compassionate and caring staff who took care of our mother while she was in Toledo Hospital, Flower Hospital, Rosary Care Center and Ebeid Hospice.
