Linda Marie (Conklin) Hanson (1951 – 2014) Linda Marie (Conklin) Hanson, age 63, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and long-time friends on Thursday, December 11, 2014. Linda was born August 2, 1951 to Gertrude (Van Baalen) and Gordon Conklin in (Duluth, MN). Linda, also known as Lyn by many of her family and friends, worked at the Toledo Chrysler Jeep plant until she retired in 2008. Prior to and after her retirement, Linda spent much of her time and resources volunteering and supporting the charities that she believed in, particularly those whose mission is to assist animals in need. Over the years Linda has rescued, fostered, and adopted an endless number of animals to whom she provided a warm and loving home. Also important to Linda were learning and education, and she set an example for those around her as she continued these pursuits throughout her life. Linda enjoyed travel and particularly loved the U.S. Southwest. While her daughter was young she was able to take her on several international trips and build this mutual love of travel and exploration of different cultures. Linda also loved quilting, creating stained glass pieces for herself and others, and entertaining us with her accordion. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Gertrude and Gordon Conklin. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Juli McCarroll, daughter-in-law April O'Neal, brothers Ronald (Ron) and Michael (Mike) Conklin, sisters-in-law Laurie and Tori Conklin, niece Alicia Beier (Anthony), nephews James (Amanda), Zachary, and Darren Conklin, great-niece Addison Beier, great-nephew Aiden Beier, and four-legged companions Daisy, Oreo, Boo, Rocky, Frank, and “””Maggie May.
