Larry "Long" Leguire left a message on July 17, 2020:
Sorry to hear that you left us, CJ (what we called Jim back in the 1960s). We were drinking buddies in the Terrace in the 1960s; driving around in your red convertible (that I later bought for $200) with a case of long necks in the back seat. We spent many of nights in the Terrace parking lots drinking, playing poker and shooting the shit with you and all the boys; Jock, Bobby, Fats, Danny...they’re all gone now. But those were the days!!! I remember them like it was yesterday. And every time I think of you and those days it always puts a BIG smile on my face. I left the Terrace in 1971 and with leaving I left behind many true friends; but the memories never left. I often thought of those good-old-days and always planned to return to Toledo and have another beer with you and the boys...someday. You touched many lives and we’re all the better because of it. Thank You.

My condolence to the Comer’s. Jim always had time to teach me about unionism and how to properly represent our members. He knew how to handle tough situations and problems. I also enjoyed his and Big Jim’s company at the establishments that served Miller Lite. Jim Comer was a good guy and honest person. I’m glad to have known him.

To the Comer family! You have my sympathy in losing a great person. I worked in the payroll office at Toledo Machining Plant and got to know Jim. He certainly was a great person who was always concerned about his fellow men and women who he represented through the UAW. I'm sure that he is in heaven now looking down and smiling at all of us. God Bless, Ron Snyder
