Donald Ray Jacobs was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 11, 1958. After a long illness, Don fell asleep in death on December 2,, 2018 surrounded by his family at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
Don was the fifth of eight children born to William and Gladys (Wright) Jacobs.
He attended Jesup W. Scott High School where he excelled in track. Upon graduation in 1976, Don married his high school sweetheart, Andrea Goolsby. Prior to his illness, Don was an entrepreneur and owner of Jacobs’ Janitorial Services, which he operated for 28 years.
Don enjoyed watching football, sitcoms and listening to Motown music especially the Temptations. He received the most joy being around his loved ones and playing with his grandchildren.
Don symbolized his dedication to Jehovah on March 17, 1979 and served faithfully for 39 years. Many of those years he served as an elder, in the Christian congregation. He looked forward to the time when the words found at Revelation 21:4 are fulfilled.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his son Donovon Jacobs, and siblings Bruce Jacobs, Katie Bostic and Pecola Jacobs. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 40 years Andrea and children Rayna Jacobs, Donald Jacobs Jr., and Ranel (Michael) Heard. Also surviving are beloved grandchildren Ramar and Ramonte Butler, Raylin Jacobs, Michael, Gabriel and Joshua Heard; siblings Larry, David, Rhonda, and Wendy Jacobs; and a host of many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
