My condolences to all of Betty Jane's surviving family. I first met her when she was about 5 years old and I was 4. Her parents had the Grant Hotel on Jefferson Ave., and mine had just bought a restaurant half a block away. We played together, went to Jefferson School, lost track of each other when thing changed during the Great Depression, met again at Scott High School. She studied piano with Marie Kellermeyer, a relative of her father's, if I remember correctly. I took lessons from Miss Kellermeyer also but not as long as Jane did. We lost track of each other for many years, but I have a host of memories of our early years. We last met at my mother's funeral in 1979, when I learned that she was employed at Sears, but never saw each other again.

We are so very sorry for your loss as Mrs. Blay was a wonderful neighbor to us for many years. When I was young I would always watch Mrs Blay out in the yard working on her flowers at the same time as my mother and those two talking gardening for hours. Once I moved my family back into my childhood house the entire Blay family has treated my kids like family. We loved her and she will be truly missed
