Zelda Thompson-Durham, 90, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2012 at Foundation Park Alzheimers Center, Toledo, Ohio. She was born February 22, 1922 in Cleveland, shortly after birth she was taken to Toledo where she grew up. Zelda retired from St. Vincents Hospital after several years of service. Zelda attended the old St. Benedict Parish for many years, where she was active in many different organizations. Later she joined Grace Presbyterian and was an active member until she became too ill to attend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sadie Richardson, her husband, Samuel Durham, and her son, Joseph Glen Thompson. She leaves behind her daughter, Gwen Hueston (Mell) of Santa Barbara, CA; step-daughter, Jennie Roberts of Toledo; and four grandchildren, Brian, Brigitte (Lavelle), Chelsie, and Joey. She also leaves behind 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Zelda is also survived by her sister, Jane Kyser (Dale).A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1171 Oakwood Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43607.The family would like to thank Foundation Park Alzheimers Care Center and Odyssey Hospice of Toledo for their care.
