Zacheriah Lee Tree Top, age 34, passed away suddenly on October 18, 2024, in Toledo, Ohio. Born on June 8, 1990, Zacheriah grew up in North Dakota, where he spent his childhood playing basketball and making lasting memories with his family and friends. He was Hunkpapa Lakota and carried deep pride in his heritage.
Zacheriah was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Tree Top, his mother, Marie Rose Phillips, his twin sister, Suzette Tree Top, and his sister, Ella Blue Shield. He is survived by his three beloved children: his sons, Zakiah Lee and Zakeaus Lynn, and his daughter, Emeline Lohnes. He is also survived by his sister Holly Tree Top and his brother Alfred Has Horns.
Zacheriah’s journey to Ohio was a powerful testament to his strength and determination, as he sought sobriety and found purpose in helping others along the same path. He was a beacon of hope in his community, offering support, encouragement, and his own story of resilience to those who struggled.
Known for his sharp sense of humor and his unwavering respect for everyone he met, Zacheriah brought joy and laughter to those around him. His loyalty to his friends and love for his family, especially as a devoted and involved uncle, were constant. His favorite moments were spent making food together with loved ones and attending the sweat lodge, where he felt a deep spiritual connection.
Zacheriah’s kindness, compassion, and desire to see others smile will be remembered by all who knew him. He treated everyone with love and respect, and his memory will continue to inspire those he touched.
He will be greatly missed by his children, family, and friends, but his legacy of love, strength, and humor will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
