Willie "Jack" Hinton, Sr.

September 28, 1944 — August 19, 2024

Willie L. Hinton, Sr. was born September 28, 1944 to Columbus Hinton, Sr. and Maggie Lee Roby- Hinton in Widener, Arkansas, and Willie, known by all that knew him as "Jack," moved to Toledo, OH in 1965.

Although life started for him in September 1944, it ended on August 19, 2024.

Willie physically returned to Jehovah in 2007 but had come to know and love Him since the early 70’s. One of the proudest moments for Willie was having the privilege of serving as a Ministerial Servant in the Mid-Town congregation.

Willie shared 32 short years with his wife, Rita M. Hinton, and they both lovingly served Jehovah together side by side.

Willie had four beautiful children that brought him so much joy. Willie Hinton, Jr. (Heather), Stephanie Hinton, Brian Hinton, and his baby, LaTonya Hinton. Willie also had 16 grand children and 33 great grandchildren whom he absolute adored. Each one had to sit and listen to his stories that would always start off as "Picture this, Arkansas 1950..." and each time they all would laugh and say "here we go!!!!!"

Willie was survived by his oldest brother, Columbus Hinton, Jr. of Milwaukee, WI, Freddie Hinton and Marvin Hinton; sisters, Ann and Cynthia Hinton.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus and Maggie Hinton; his brother, John Hinton; and two sisters, Ruby Lindley and Dorthy Myers.

Jack was loved by many people and he gave that love right back. All who knew him would agree that his loud voice when getting his point across, to his laughter and jokes, just drew people to him. Jack was able to enjoy several years of retirement; listening to the Blues, watching and talking about his Indianapolis Colts was his favorite pastimes. There are so many stories that could be told about Jack and the JOY he brought to us all, but I will let everyone reflect on their memories of him.

A memorial service for Jack will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1722 Cherry Street, Toledo, OH 43608 on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 1:00 pm. A gathering will immediately follow the service at Swan Creek Metropark Yager Center, 4349 Airport Highway, Toledo, OH 43615.

We will always love you, Jack!!!!!
