Willie F. Lamberson Jr., affectionately known as “Lil June,” passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 68. A proud son to the late Hattie Mae Lamberson and Willie F. Lamberson Sr.
Willie proudly served his country as a United States Marine—a title he carried with honor and strength throughout his life. Known for his bold spirit, unwavering love for family, and no-nonsense attitude, Willie leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, pride, and resilience.
He is survived by his children: Willie F. Lamberson III, Phoebe Davis (Charles), Quenette Freeman (Darius), Ralph Lamberson, Elliot Lamberson, and Jovon Lamberson. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Laura Lamberson, Denise Lamberson, and Linda Lamberson. His cherished nieces and nephew include Laverne Lamberson, Michael Lamberson, and Dawnetta Hudson.
Willie was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is remembered by a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends—too many to name, but all deeply loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Reuben Lamberson and Keith Mitchell.
Willie will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, and the way he fiercely loved those close to him. His presence was bold, his laugh was unforgettable, and his loyalty ran deep.
