William “Bill” Leake, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Arbors of Sylvania. Born on June 23, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ida and Walter Leake, Bill lived a life full of dedication, love, and service.
A proud graduate of DeVilbiss High School in 1952, Bill continued his education at Toledo University before serving his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career, first with Hilfinger Corp from 1962 to 1971, and later at A+Z Diecast, where he retired in 1991 as vice president and general manager.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bill had a passion for sports. He was an accomplished tennis player, earning numerous medals in The Senior Olympics, and he also enjoyed playing golf. He was a proud member of American Legion Post 335 and 648.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Sandra, and his loving family: daughters Cindy (Ken) Jones, Kim (Paul) Kantorski, and Kathy (John) Madalinski. He was a cherished grandfather to Jenny (Mike) Walz, Jill (Jeffrey) Jacobs, Julia Jones, Lindsay Kantorski (Eric), Anthony (Katie) Kantorski, Matt (Holly) Horen, and Amanda Szczepanski (Ryan). His legacy lives on through his great-grandchildren: Derek, Austin, Alyssa, Giana, Bella, Analise, Brooklyn, Colton, Andrew, Kenzie, and Garrett.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Arbors of Sylvania and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care.
Bill’s kindness, dedication, and love for his family and community will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
