William C. Ladwig

William C. Ladwig, age 73, from Toledo, OH, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born Jan. 17, 1947, in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Walter and Edna (Eberlein) Ladwig. On May 27, 1972, he was united in marriage to Cheri (Mehlberg) Ladwig in Detroit. She preceded him in death in 2018. Mr. Ladwig graduated from Concordia University in Seward, NE, with a degree in education and got his master’s degree in education at Siena Heights University. The Ladwigs resided in Pittsford, MI, for many years where Mr. Ladwig taught elementary education at Freedom Farm Christian School. They then moved to Ottawa Lake, MI, where he spent 26 years teaching and volunteering at Toledo Christian. They were active members of Bedford Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. He enjoyed gardening and cutting wood, as well as teaching and supporting Christian education. Survivors include: children, Hannah (David) Newton, Seattle, WA; Samuel (Christina) Ladwig, Temperance; Jessica (Martin) Nowak, Leland, NC; Zachary (Theodora) Ladwig, Toledo; five grandchildren, Bethany and Shiloh Newton, Audrey and Cole Ladwig, Maisy Nowak, and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be Fri Oct. 9, 2020, at 5 p.m. at Bedford Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 8645 Jackman Rd, Temperance, MI, 48182. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for Toledo Christian has been established in his memory.
