William "Bill" P. Blackwell

William “Bill” Blackwell passed away at Ebeid Hospice on August 5, 2022, age 93. He was a graduate of the University of Toledo, class of 1956, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He received his Master of Education degree from the University of Toledo in 1958. He was a teacher, counselor, and administrator for Toledo Public Schools for 30 years. He served in the Air Force from 1950-1954. Bill married Marjorie Pizza, also of Toledo, in 1959. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two children, daughter, Julie (Todd) Bensinger and son, John Blackwell; two grandchildren, Erin and Drew Bensinger; and one sister, Mary Joan Rogge. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Kaiser and his cousin, Don Thurber. Donations in Bill’s honor are welcome at St. Martin de Porres Church or Helping Hands of St. Louis. A Memorial Service will be planned for a later date.
