Walter E. Minnick

Walter E. Minnick, age 84, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on December 11, 2017 at the Lakes of Monclova.” He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 23, 1933 to Clarence and Eunice (Royer) Minnick. Walter was a 1952 graduate of Maumee High School where he was the co-captain of the varsity football team.” He was an avid golfer, belonging to Valleywood and South Toledo Golf Clubs. Walter was also a member of the Maumee Elks and the Carpenters Union Local 1138.” He served as a Past Master and District Deputy Grand Master of Northern Light Lodge #40.” Walter was the owner of Wemcorp Interiors, Inc and also worked for Ohio Ceiling and Buehrer and Stough Architects, but his greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis; sons, Jeff (Suzanne) and Mark (Ellen); daughter, Susan Minnick; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Linda (Charlie) Toepfer and many nieces and nephews.” In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his sisters, Marguerite Yenrick and Jackie Bork and brother, Herbert. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Maumee United Methodist Church, 4057 Sackett Street, Maumee, Ohio.” A private interment will be held for the family at Highland Memory Gardens.
