Walter (Wally) John Felder, of Oregon, age 62, passed away surrounded by family at Hospice of NWO on Monday, May 24, 2010 after a long battle with Prostate Cancer. Wally was born on July 29, 1948 to Geraldine and Edwin Felder of Oak Harbor, Ohio. He was their eldest child, and only son. He graduated from high school, and later served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Military Policeman. Wally was stationed in Thailand when he suffered a near fatal gunshot wound to his abdomen. After his recovery overseas, he was honorably discharged on August 24, 1970, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Wally was a fun-loving and caring man who lived everyday to its fullest. He loved being with his friends and family, and he was always the funniest person in the room. Wally loved playing cards, betting on the horses, watching the Detroit Tigers, and spending time with his grandson Cole.He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and is survived by his son Chris, daughter-in-law Lindsey, and grandson Cole; along with sisters Sue Ann and Darlene and countless extended family and friends. Wally is and will be deeply missed. A memorial/celebration of Wallys life will be held at the VFW Post at 102 West Andrus Rd. in Northwood, OH on Sunday, June 6, 2010 starting at 2 oclock.
