Virginia "Ginny" Morris, age 78 years old, passed away on July 10, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, after she suffered from a brain aneurysm, on June 29, 2024, and was never able to regain consciousness. Carla Miller, her partner of 37 years, was at her bedside for her last breaths. Her fur babies, Sadie and Skeezix, also came for a visit that morning and were able to comfort her one more time before she joined all of her 4-legged kids in heaven. Ginny is survived by many beloved friends, all of which have become her family, over the years.
Ginny was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on June 30, 1946. Her family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, before settling in Toledo, Ohio. Ginny has resided in the Swanton, Ohio, area for the past 33 years. She was a 1964 graduate of McAuley High School, and continued her education at the University of Toledo, where she earned her master's degree in education and science. Ginny had a busy and fulfilling life. After graduating college, she went on to teach at her alma mater, McAuley High School, for 17 years. She also worked at Sunshine Children's Home, B. Dalton/Barnes & Noble, Little Professor, and Frogtown Books, before retiring in 2008. Ginny was an avid reader, was a master scrabble player, and was well versed in numerous subjects. She never left a crossword or acrostic puzzle unfinished!
Ginny absolutely loved to spoil her 4-legged kids and kept active playing with them and walking miles and miles every day, beside them. She will be greatly missed for her wonderful sense of humor, kind soul, and her ability to recite almost every episode of the Golden Girls, on any given moment.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 20, 2024 from 12:00 - 5:00 PM at Secor Park Meadow View Shelter 10001 W. Central Avenue Berkey, OH 43504.
