Verla Cole

Verla Cole, age 69, passed away on February 7, 2026, surrounded by her children. She was born on November 26, 1956, and spent her life devoted to her family, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Verla was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Cole; her sister, Brenda Estes; and her parents, Joan and Ernie Estes.

She leaves behind her greatest pride and joy – her children: Robert Cole, Amanda (John) Modlinski, Belinda (Matthew) Stobinski, and Virginia (Steve) McCann. She was also a deeply loved grandmother to nine grandchildren, each of whom held a very special place in her heart.

Verla had a true love for cooking and could often be found in the kitchen, sharing meals, stories, and her recipes with her children and family. Some of her most meaningful moments were spent teaching those recipes, creating traditions that will live on for generations. She also enjoyed quiet time with a good book or a challenging crossword puzzle – but don’t be fooled by her calm nature. Verla had a competitive streak, and anyone who ever played Euchre or Trivial Pursuit with her knew she played to win and enjoyed every second of it.

Above all else, Verla loved her family fiercely. Her presence was steady, her love unconditional, and her impact immeasurable. She will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit will live on in the lives she touched, the meals she taught, and the memories her family holds close.
