Vera (Wurbia) Sieracki passed on to join family and friends in heaven January 21st was born in Chicago September 15, 1925 to John and Fedora Wurbia. Her parents and older brother John immigrated to the US from Russia, with her mother having to leave her parents. She grew up and was very proud to be from the South Side of Chicago. She married her loving husband of over sixty years, Len, and they married in 1952. She moved to the North Side of Chicago where they raised their two children, Len and Paula. While raising a family, she was employed for many years by Ryerson Steel.Vera is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Paul, John and sister Rose. She is survived by her loving husband Len, sister Ann, son Len, his wife Maria (Batka), daughter Paula, her husband Tom Medsker, granddaughters Dawn, Kim (Parks) and husband Tim, Nikki (Gebfert) and husband Ryan, Kathy, Liz, Kate, step grandson Sean and wife Anne, great granddaughters Emma Rose, Violet Marie and step great granddaughter Novalee and many much loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.Special thanks to many who helped in her later years. Neighbors on LaPorte in Chicago, especially Bob, who helped her stay in her home for more years than she could have hoped. Also thanks to many at Our Lady of Victory. Most recently, the many people from Paramount Hospice who helped her to spend her last months in a comfortable home surrounded by those who loved her, especially Carrie, Brynn, and David.A memorial service for immediate family is planned for 11 AM on Saturday, March 2nd at Saint Joan of Arc Church in Toledo, Ohio. Her remains will be interred in Chicago at Elmwood Park Cemetery in Illinois at a later date, where she will be for eternity with her husband Len.Any donations should be made to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, a longtime place of solace and inspiration for Vera. Thanks to so many who have sent their love and prayers to the family.
