Tyler Ray Hoffman, known to most as Huffy, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 23, 2023. He was born in Fremont, OH to Patti (Stevens) and Haldon Hoffman on December 17, 1985. Tyler attended Vanguard and graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 2004. He joined the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department on December 13, 2009. Tyler later met his wife, Jennifer (Frankart) Hoffman, in 2012 and married August 11, 2018. They have two beautiful sons, Konner and Kolten Hoffman, who were Tyler’s pride and joy and were always ready to be Daddy’s helpers.
Tyler had a love for working on equipment, farming, excavating, firefighting and anything that involved getting his hands dirty. He was the one that anyone could call for help and he would be right there, no matter what he was doing. Tyler loved to work hard and play harder. He spent many weekends taking his family camping and teaching the boys how to ride 4-wheelers. He touched so many people’s hearts and was truly an amazing man. Tyler was a member of the Eagles and a proud and valued member of GVFD. Tyler was employed by the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18, at Rudolph Libbe and D2 Excavating.
Tyler had many titles in his lifetime, and he had to leave to gain another. He became a Guardian Angel for his loved ones left behind on this Earth. His mother, Patti (Jerry) Wasserman, siblings Kori (Ryan Sexton) Hoffman, Krystle (Raul Reyna) Hoffman, Troy (Michael Jones) Hoffman, mother-in-law, Sandi (Bill Dell) Frankart, father-in-law, Greg (Bonnie) Frankart, sister-in-law Missy Frankart, and brother-in-law Stephen (Hannah) Frankart. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, step siblings, and aunts and uncles.
Tyler was preceded in death by his father, Haldon (Doc) Hoffman, maternal grandparents Richard and Rose Stevens and paternal grandparents Ray and Glodean Hoffman.
A Mass to celebrate Tyler’s life will be held at Saint Michael Catholic Church, 317 E. Madison St, Gibsonburg OH on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10:30 am. There will be a time of visitation with the family beginning at 9:30 am in the church. A celebration of life will follow at his home, 424 County Road 60, Helena, OH. Please feel free to wear your country casual attire.
