Tonya Adams passed on peacefully to her next life, the eternal one in Heaven, in the early morning hours of December 29th, 2021, due to a long-term illness. Tonya was a spirited soul who loved life, had an infectious smile, and laugh, and brought joy to everyone she touched. In 1990 Tonya started as the secretary for Father Patrick Gannon at St. Bonaventure Parrish in Luling Louisiana. She had great respect for Father Gannon. He was a strong mentor to her which helped to shape her character as a Christian woman and gain a strong work ethic and impeccable professionalism as a valued and respected staff member. Tonya continued throughout her life serving others while working with the Archdiocese of New Orleans, The Catholic Diocese of Pueblo and The United Church of Christ in Cleveland, where she supported the National Disaster and Refugee & Immigration Ministries. She was loved and highly respected in the various ministries that she was a part of. In 2008 Tonya moved to Vermillion Ohio to be closer to her family. Later, she met Todd Gagne’ and moved to the Toledo area to plan their life together. Tonya loved her Catholic faith, her savior Jesus Christ, and her loving family & valued friends. Tonya was preceded in passing by her father Ronald “Kent” Adams and her mother Carol Adams. She is survived by her beloved fiancée Todd Gagne’, her sister and brother in-law Tiffany & Marty Sekeres, her brother and sister in-law Eddie & Katie Young and their children Jasmine, Nolan, Camden and Madison. She is also survived by her adopted family, Brent Gagne’, Nev & Seger Gagne’, Jordin Gagne’ and her children Leighland, Oliver & Sylvia, and her dogs Dash & Ivy. There will be a Catholic Mass and Service for Tonya at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. in Toledo Ohio on Saturday January 15th at 10 am. Lunch will be offered after the service. As Tonya was also a board member and volunteer for Blessings In Disguise charity. Please consider making a donation in Tonya’s name to Blessings In Disquise at Blessingsid.org.
