Terry S. Kilpatrick

Terry S. Kilpatrick (79) passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

He was a civil engineer graduating from the University of Toledo. He went to work at Customflex, eventually purchasing the company. He went to work at Toledo Metal Spinning but continued Customflex part time and kept the Interlake sailboat alive. He enjoyed working, aviation and sailing, even though he wasn’t able to sail, use his pilot’s license for many years, he still found ways to engage in his hobbies by visiting aviation and boat museums, going to air shows and as many Interlake Regattas that he could. He was very involved in the Interlake Class Association and a member of the Sandusky Sailing Club.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Melissa (Rob) Beattie, Patrick Foy and Andrea Westmeyer; grandchildren, Sofia, Brock and Caden; brother, Douglass; nephew Douglass Jr. and nieces, Rebecca and Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clementine; sister-in-law, Linda, and niece, Kerry.

There will be a Celebration of Life on June 11, 2023 from 11:00 am to 3 pm at The Premier, 4480 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH 43614.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Junior Sailing Program or Charity of your choice.
