Susan Carole (O’Rourke) Wadsworth gracefully passed away at home on December 11, 2025, at the age of 85. Sue was born in Toledo, Ohio to Jack and Wilma O'Rourke on April 1, 1940.
She graduated from DeVilbiss H.S. then went on to attend both Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.
Suzy, as she was affectionately known, had a smile that would light up any room she was in. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, strength, and compassion. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. Remember her for the way she lived her life and the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Susan was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother whose life centered on family with her quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through those who knew and loved her. Suzy loved life and enjoyed her summers on Middle Bass, making memories with her family and friends.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Larry Wadsworth; son, Michael (Gina) Wadsworth; daughter, Lori (Gary) Turner, and sister, Colleen O’Rourke. “Mimi” was the cherished grandmother to Meredith, Emma and Caden. She also leaves behind her nephews Jeff, Jack, Jon, and Jesse as well as a host of many family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack, and in-laws Mike and Gladine Wadsworth.
After marriage and raising her family, Sue was an executive assistant for St. Paul Insurance Co. and later became a realtor for DiSalle where she loved meeting people and connecting with them as they searched for their dream home.
Those who knew her will remember her for her infectious smile and laughter along with spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. Anyone who knew her well knew her love for her four-legged furry friends. She sure loved pampering her pups!
The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care they showed. Beth, Val, Barb and Lindsey you held our hands through this journey, and we will be forever grateful for the grace and compassion you shared. Also, a special thank you to Cindi, Martina, and Stacy for the love you showed her. You treated her with such love and kind-heartedness. You treated her like family.
A celebration of life service to honor Suzy will be held at a later date on Middle Bass Island. Arrangements will be announced closer to the celebration.
