Rev. Susan M. Taylor

Reverend Susan Marie Taylor, age 68, passed into God's hands peacefully while sleeping on August 22, 2026, at Merit House in Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 10, 1957, and raised in a devout Christian home.

Susan was a graduate of Bowsher High School in Toledo, Ohio, and went on to receive a baccalaureate in theological studies at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. She then obtained a Master's degree from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities St. Paul, MN.

Susan served as pastor at several churches in South Dakota, where she made her home after ordination.

She was a passionate advocate for woman's rights and for equality of all humankind. She welcomed any and all into her churches.

She enjoyed singing, playing her violin, and any type of craft. Most recently water color painting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Shirley (Meyers) Taylor.

Susan is survived by her sisters, Kimberly (Jerry) Tolstyka and Jennifer McCarty; nieces and nephews, Jerry Tolstyka Jr., Jocelyn (Michael) Bongorno, Danielle Cotton, Monica (Travis) Lohse, and Dr. David Tolstyka, as well as 6 great nieces and nephew.
