Stephen M. Hummer , Sr

Stephen M. Hummer, age 63, of Toledo, OH passed away June 11, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Steve was born on November 17, 1959 to Sylvester and Virginia (Jones) Hummer. He grew up in Bedford, MI where he enjoyed playing baseball, riding dirt bikes, and playing the guitar. His love of music and playing the guitar would remain with him for the rest of his life. He became a Journeyman Electrician and worked as an Industrial Electrician for many years. The last 5 years of his career were spent in Maintenance at the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities, doing a job he enjoyed with people that he loved working with. In his free time, Steve loved fishing, playing golf, being around family and playing his guitar, whether around the campfire or out at a local watering hole.

Surviving are his 3 sons; Steve Jr. (Cathy), Nick, and Chris (Brittany). Also surviving are his sister Denise (Keith) Budy, sister-in-law Lisa, 6 grandchildren, 2 nieces, and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Michael and David.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held on July 7th from 4-8 p.m. at the Bedford Hills Golf Course Pavillion, 6400 Jackman Rd, Temperance, MI 48182.

The family would like to extend a sincere Thank You to the staff at Genacross Lutheran Services - Wolf Creek for the care and compassion they had for Steve. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of donations to Genacross Lutheran Services or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
