Stephen Hottmann

Stephen (Steve) Hottmann of Toledo, Ohio passed away on December 10, 2025 at the age of 54. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Wendy, sons: Stephen (Josh Bohm) and Jacob; brothers: Ronald (Susan Beaverson), and Anthony (Kathryn McCray), his nephews and nieces and an extremely large extended family. He was preceded in death by his dear mother, Theresa (Avalos) Hottmann; his beloved grandparents Stanley and Rita Avalos; many aunts; uncles; and his father-in-law, Robert F. Burger.

Steve graduated from Lake High School, met Wendy and joined the USMC. He honorable served and sacrificed for what he believed in. He received many awards including two Good Conduct medals and made many brothers during his time.

Steve’s nonworking hours were spent indulging in his hobbies: working on his son’s car, motorcycles, traveling with his wife and even raising chickens. Steve was deeply devoted to his wife and sons. Although he had been an avid sportsman in high school, his two boys did not share that passion. As a true Marine, he adapted—bonding with them through arcade outings, video games, and high school debates—always supporting their adventures.

The Hottmann family would like to thank all of those that gave emotional, physical, and spiritual support during this trying time.
