Shirley J. Shiple

Shirley Jean (Nauman) Shiple passed away peacefully on September 23, 2021. Shirley was born on March 30, 1936 to George and Dorothy Nauman. She attended Central Catholic High School, where in the hallway she met the love of her life, Norman Shiple. Norman and Shirley married in October of 1952 and were blessed with 8 children. Shirley was a devoted Catholic and attended Mass regularly at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns. She enjoyed getting to know people at Mass and at the various festivals held at the church. One of Shirley’s favorite hobbies was playing cards and Yahtzee with family and friends. Surviving are her children, Pam (Dale) Lloyd, Norman, Jr., Sandy (Bill) Huntzinger, Mark (Joanne), Linda Laurie, Tony (Vickie), and Teresa Shiple; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret Cornwell and Ruthie Nauman. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, Norman; daughter, Rebecca; brothers, Frank, Jerry, Ed, Bill, Steve, Mike and sister Carol. A Memorial Mass will be held in October at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614. Memorial tributes may be made in Shirley’s honor to the charity of the donor’s choice.
