Shirley Ann Duchene

January 1, 1934 — September 27, 2021

First, Shirley Ann (Kornmeier) Duchene is to be held in high esteem for the quality of love she gave to others. Not only her family and friends, but animals and her gardens. She showered her love in many ways, being friendly, a great listener, being kind, and generous with her time and love. The love of her life was George Thomas Duchene, her husband of 64 years. She expressed that love by 5 children with him. They both taught their children to be loving, as seen in their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her true message, shown by example is to love everyone always. She taught us to follow our dreams, have wings, and to thy own self to be true. We walked together, talked together, laughed, and cried together, broke bread together, and created memories that we will forever cherish. Shirley A Duchene, 87 passed away on September 27th, 2021 in Temperance Michigan. She was born to the late John Vincent Kornmeier and Elizabeth (Daniels) Kornmeier in Marine City, Michigan on January 1st, 1934. She graduated from Marine City High school in June 1952 as an honor student. She worked during high school as a drug store clerk and at Chris Craft Corp as an account clerk. In 1954 she married George T. Duchene, they moved to Toledo, Ohio and she became a mother of five children. She worked at Huntington Bank for 15 years, holding many titles from posting clerk, to supervisor. She was a member of American Business Women Association for 10 years and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary from the Sherman Osborn American Legion post #192 for 40 years. Her hobbies were reading, gardening, bunco clubs, astrology, selling Mary Kay Cosmetics, and garage sailing, sometimes all in the same day. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother (to many more then just her own), Great + Grandmother, and friend to many. She is survived by her children Cheri Duchene, Charles (Sue) Duchene, David Duchene (Terry Foust), Sandra (Mark) Birr, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister in laws Barb Beauchamp, and Margret Duchene, and several nieces and nephews.
