Shirley Mae Chitwood

Shirley Mae Chitwood, 87 years, of Erie, MI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022. The daughter of Sylvester and Edna (Apking) Nickol, she was born on October 17th, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Shirley enjoyed spending her time trying new candy bars her grandchildren would get her and watching the cats outside of her home. She also enjoyed gambling with friends at Motor City Casino.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Suzanne Chitwood; her loving grandchildren, Jennifer, Travis, Nikki, Laura and Tyler. She is preceded in death by her husband, William; her daughter, Barbara; and her son, James. Her cremains will be interred with her parents in Cincinnati, Ohio at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, her grandchildren ask that you take a couple minutes from your day and enjoy a candy bar of your choice in her memory.
