Sherry L. Hyland

Sherry L Hyland, 72,  of Perrysburg Ohio died December 23rd 2020 in St. Lukes Hospital after battling complications of a pancreatic infection. She was born in Fremont Nebraska on August 10th, 1948 to George Ambrose Hyland and Ethelyn Jean Hyland(Hackney). Sherry is survived by her; daughters, Tiffany Hyland, Tricia Gentry, and birth daughter Christina Sowley; sisters, Julie Hatton, Melanie Mathewson, Maryrose Bigelow, and Tricia Hyland; Brothers; Timothy Hyland and Brian Hyland;  grandchildren, Patrick Shekut, Sam Shekut, Ben Shekut, Emma Rasar, Flynn Sowley and Brooklynn Sowley: and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Michael Hyland and Kevin Hyland. Sherry enjoyed gardening, baking, walking with her family, nature, reading, quilting and drawing. She had a voracious knowledge of history and literature and was a slayer of the most difficult expert crossword puzzles and logic problems. Above all else Sherry loved her children and her grandchildren. We her family, while devastated by her loss, are so grateful we were blessed to call her our Mother, Sister, Grandma, Aunt, and Friend. Our world feels so much smaller now. A private memorial service will be held for family later this year when we can all safely convene to celebrate her life together. In lieu of flowers please consider honoring Sherry’s spirit with a gift to the World Literacy Foundation, the Nature Conservancy, or a donation of diet coke to a women’s shelter. She would immensely approve of all of the above.
