Sherron D. Kern, 83, of Maumee, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was the daughter of Robert and Marguerite MacDowell. Sherron was a 1952 graduate of Whitney High School and was a licensed beautician. She worked for many years at Maumee City Schools in the Food Service Department. She is survived by her loving husband, Lowell. The two of them had recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by her children, Lowell Lee (Toni), Marlynn Joy (Brian) MacLeod, Kevin, and Kirk (Connie). She will be remembered by her grandchildren, Ashley Marshall, Philip Kern, Kendra Kern, Parker Kern, and Shayna MacLeod, and four great-grandchildren. Sherron is also survived by her niece, Lisa (Bob) Strugarek and nephew, Marty (Mary) MacDowell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert. Sherron was a tremendous seamstress and crocheted many lovely afghans for friends and family. She had a great compassion for others and enjoyed helping in the kitchen at Good Samaritan Outreach. Sherron was a member of Maumee Methodist Church. The memorial service for Sherron will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 21 at Maumee Methodist Church, 405 Sackett Street, Maumee, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maumee United Methodist Church or Cherry Street Mission. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Perrysburg) for their compassionate care of Sherron.
