Sheila K. Carmony, age 78, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after enduring seven years with the debilitating dementia disease known as Primary Progressive Aphasia. She had been living at The Landings of Oregon for the past year, until the time of her death. She was born July 20, 1940 to Melvin and Gladys Huffman in Gas City, IN. She met the love of her life and soulmate, Ronald L. Carmony while in grade school and they were married for 59 years. She worked for 17 years as the Guidance department secretary at Perrysburg High School before retiring in 1993. Ron and Sheila were blessed with an early retirement and the ability to actively enjoy their golden years together for almost 26 years. Sheila’s passions in life included being outdoors biking and walking as well as spending summers at their second home on Lake Chapman in Warsaw, IN. She also loved to travel; she and Ron visited all 50 states and enjoyed 13 cruises during their retirement years. For many years she enjoyed bridge and parties with the lunch bunch ladies, close friends who later became known as the Chick Clique, visiting restaurants together for lunch. Winters were spent in Bradenton, FL where she made many close friends and enjoyed dancing, dinner parties and many outdoor activities. Her priorities were always her husband, children and grandchildren. She played such a big part in all their lives and will be greatly missed. Sheila was a strong supporter of the American Red Cross Blood Drive and donated over 10 gallons in her lifetime. Loved ones remember Sheila as the ultimate giver to all, not only with her kindness, love and time, but also for her incomparable pie crust and pies! Sheila is survived by her husband, Ronald Carmony; son, Kevin (Kathleen) Carmony; daughter, Kimberlee (Martin) Adams; grandchildren, Kaitlin (Kyle) Ganss; Tyler Carmony; Nick (Sarah) Carmony; beloved sisters Judith (David) Hudelson and Susan Nolan and three great-grandchildren; Jaxson and Emmerson Ganss and Kolton Carmony. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Gladys Huffman. The family’s heartfelt thanks go out to The Landings of Oregon memory care staff who provided exceptional love, care and kindness to Ron and Sheila over the last year and to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio who guided us through her challenging final months. The family will hold private services.
