Shanna L. Carroll

In loving memory of Shanna L. Carroll, age 79, of Toledo, Ohio, who passed away February 18, 2024. Shanna was born November 16, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to Howard and Olga (Donski) Carroll. Shanna was a secretary for 30 years, working for Owens-Illinois and The University of Toledo. Her entire life was lovingly dedicated to her mother, children, and grandchildren- working to support her family and always willing to help in any way possible. She passed on a love of gardening and birds to her family. Her family will miss family celebrations, where mom would “cook for an army”. She will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, work ethic, and playful personality, with memories carried closely in all of our hearts.

Shanna is survived by her three children, Shay H. (Brian) Kennedy, Thad M. (Elizabeth) Osten, Brynn C. (David) Carroll-DePodesta; six grandchildren, Rhyssa N. and Derek W. Kennedy; Kathryn M. and Carson M. Osten; D.C. and Owynn J.C. Burr, and many nephews and nieces.

Shanna was preceded in death by her parents, Olga (Oct 20, 2014) and Howard Carroll (June 22, 1963); one brother, L. Dan Carroll, Sr. (Sept 22, 2005); one son, Matthew Osten (July 16, 1970), grandparents, John F. and Mary (Bartosz) Donski, George D. Carroll and Eunice Mae (Williams) Carroll Bartlett.

Honoring her wishes there will be no visitation. Private family services will take place at a later date with internment in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memory Lane Daycare Services and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
