Saundra Sue Hardin, 69, Findlay, went to be with her heavenly father in the early morning hours of November 25, 2011 at Bridge Hospice Care Center.She was born to the late Lawrence Kenneth Hardin and Evelyn Ethel Hardin on June 20, 1942. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother and best friend Kenneth Gene Hardin who is still survived by his wife Charlotte Hardin. She was married to her husband of 12 years Richard J. Toeppe. Sadly missed will be her 3 children: Kent (Debbie) Tarbox, Jennifer (Bland) Garland and Kevin Bland. Grandchildren: Chelsea Tarbox, Brice Tarbox, Austin Garland, Paul Bland, Amanda Bland, Sabrina Vargas and her much loved basset hound “Rascal”.She was a 1960 graduate of Findlay High School and the same year completed her training at Fredericks Beauty Academy in Lima and would later own and operate her hair salon for 25 years. In 1993 she received her Associate Degree in Applied Science from The University of Toledo and graduated on the deans list. At the age of 57 she further advanced her education and graduated The University of Findlay with Bachelor of Arts. She became dedicated to helping others and in 2002 she received her license as a registered social worker.She grew up just outside McComb then moved to Findlay on West Main Cross St. In later years the family sold the house to what Findlay now recognizes as The City Mission.She had a true gift for piano and completed a full musical education by the age of 12. She played piano and sang for First Assembly of God Church Fostoria and Findlay for 20 years.Her Favorite place was lake Erie and at the age of 7 began driving boats with the guidance of her father. At the age of 15 she had her own boat and would take her girlfriends water skiing after school on the Blanchard River. Up to the age of 68 she was still enjoying the water and riding her jet ski. She would teach the younger generations about the lake and was always asked by the younger kids to drive the boat for water sports. She has left our family a living legacy through her many scrapbooks, photos and countless stories from family and friends of years spent together and on the lake. A memorial service will be held Friday December 9, 2011 at Upper Room Church of God 520 W. Bigelow Ave., Findlay. Visitation will be from 6p-7p with the service immediately following at 7p.
