Sandra Jo Ann Billegas

Sandra (Sandy) J. Billegas, 71, a devoted mother and grandma, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Sandy was born October 7, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, to John A. Murphy and Joan McCarthy.

Sandy, an avid animal lover and happy face enthusiast, loved watching true crime shows, playing mystery games, and listening to The Rat Pack. Sandy enjoyed reminiscing about the 25 Years she spent at Columbia Gas, raising her children, and spending time with friends and Family.

Sandy is survived by her children, Charles (Brandi) Maxwell, Kimberly (James) Wilcox, and Amanda Billegas; siblings, John (Rose) Murphy, Patricia McGuire, Susan (John) Ankney, Timothy (Angie) Murphy; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Sandy was proceeded in death by her parents; previous spouses, Donald R. Maxwell, and Antonio Billegas Jr.; and great-grandson, Parker J. Thompson.

Sandy’s family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be made to Toledo Humane Society or Towards Mental Health Services in Lucas County.
