Samuel A. Marsico of Sylvania passed away on May 4, 2021. He died of natural causes while residing at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, 4121 King Rd. He is survived by his son, Paul A. Marsico of Marietta, Georgia and four loving step-children: Nancy Spix Turner, Mark V. Spix, Valerie Spix Webb and Brian K. Spix. Mr. Marsico was born in Creekside, Pennsylvania on February 7, 1923. He was the son of James and Margaret (Delaskey) Marsico. Sam graduated from Indiana, Pennsylvania High School in 1940. He was drafted into the U.S. Air Force in 1942, where he remained until 1945. He was stationed and trained at numerous American Air Force bases throughout the U.S. piloting B-25, A-26 and B-26 aircraft. He was prepared to be deployed to the Pacific theater when WWII ended. He married Anne Sadowski Spix at Reformation Lutheran Church in Toledo on June 2, 1962. Sam joined Beneficial Finance Company and operated various branches in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Toledo, Ohio. In 1960, he joined Peoples Savings Bank. He retired in 1983 as Assistant Secretary. In retirement, he continued to be active in real estate sales and appraisals for over two decades. Sam was an avid and skilled hunter and fisherman. He also excelled at and enjoyed golf. He belonged to and supported many sporting clubs and fraternal organizations including local gun clubs and the Elks. Sam will be cremated at the Cremation Society of Toledo followed by a private celebration of life among his son and step-children
