Salvatore Cellura, II (53)a beloved son, brother, uncle and cousin passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and precious memories. Born on April 26, 1973, in Toledo, Ohio, Sal, or "Tory" as he was fondly known by family, brought joy and warmth to everyone he encountered.

Sal was the loving son of JoAnn (neé Mominee) and the late Salvatore Cellura. He was a devoted brother to his sisters: Mia Cellura Addes (Clifton), Annie Cellura Cass (John), Carissa Cellura Blagborne (James), Angela Cellura Sapp (Benjamin), and Gabriella Cellura. His family was the cornerstone of his life. He took immense pride and joy in his role as the "Funcle" to his 12 nephews and 5 nieces, who were the light of his life: Addes children: Daniel, James, Shane & Aaliya. Cass children: Andrew (Samantha), Nathan, Matthew (Gabby) & Ian. Blagborne children: Cody, Brook (Brenden), Finn & Liam. Sapp children: Ethan, Lilah, Gianna, Vera & William. He was a beloved cousin to Lyn, Cindy, Nick, Ashley, David, Stephen, Eric and Brandon.

Educated at St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo, Sal was a proud graduate of the class of 1991. He attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he pursued psychology, then Delgado Community College in New Orleans, Louisiana where he followed his passion for culinary arts. Sal's love and passion for cooking was renowned. He delighted in sharing his culinary creations with family & friends.

Sal's culinary career began in Toledo, OH and took him to New Orleans, LA to Provincetown, MA to Chicago, IL to San Francisco, CA & the Bay area to Charlottesville, VA; as well as many catering adventures, like Coachella & the WARPED Tour. For the last four years, back to the Toledo area, where he was the Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef for the Hilton Garden Inn/Home2 of Perrysburg. Throughout his career, he developed strong leadership skills which created loyal teams and close friends for life. He was known for cultivating talent and bringing people, including his nephew Andrew, with him for many of his work experiences.

It was Tory's kindness and generosity that left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was known to send his nieces, nephews, and even sisters, goofy gifts randomly just for fun. His love leaves memories scattered across the world carried by the many friends he gathered in his travels. From childhood friends, college pals, the LOS, and the many friends left in California and everywhere in between, he loved and lived deeply.

His unexpected passing has left a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will be held in those same hearts, who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his father, Salvatore Cellura, his paternal grandparents Angelo and Mary Cellura, maternal grandparents William J. and Jennie Mominee, maternal uncles William A. Mominee and Jerome N. Mominee and maternal aunt Colette R. Mominee Nowak.
