Adored husband, beloved father and dear friend, Ross D. Patton, 62, died peacefully Sunday April 11, 2010 at his Holland home with his family by his side. Ross was born January 17, 1948 in Toledo to Donald and Vivian Patton. Ross was a handsome, charming man with a great sense of humor who always had a ready smile. He took great joy in entertaining his family and friends with his darling wife, Cheryl. Ross graduated from DeVilbiss High School and attended The University of Toledo. For a living he chose to sell what he loved, and enjoyed a successful career in the car business for more than 40 years. Ross loved to work on projects around the house. He enjoyed working with wood, working on cars, and had the distinction of being the “go-to guy” who could fix anything for his family, friends and neighbors. In 2008, Ross and Cheryl took the trip of their dreams to Europe, visiting Paris, France and traveling by rail throughout Italy. Ross was a man who loved well, and was well-loved.Ross is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Cheryl, son Ryan, daughter Kimberly Patton Lumm, grandson Lucas, granddaughters Taylor and Madison, and mother, Vivian Patton Ross father, Donald, died in 2002.Friends are asked to join the family at an Open house in celebration of Ross life on Sunday, April 25, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Patton home on Rolling Hill. In lieu of flowers, tributes honoring Ross may be given to the Toledo Animal Shelter, the Cherry Street Mission, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Online condolences may be shared below:
