Ronald Dean Miller, known simply as Ron to friends and Papa to the grandchildren who adored him, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 75 years old.
Born on September 12, 1950, Ron grew up with a strong work ethic, a love for engines, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He attended Northwestern High School and later continued his education at Baker College, setting the foundation for a long and dedicated career in retail management. Ron was the kind of leader who earned respect not by title, but by example-steady, reliable, and always willing to lend a hand.
On January 22, 1972, Ron married the love of his life, Patricia Miller, beginning a 54‑year partnership built on devotion, humor, and unwavering support. Together they raised their sons, Sean and Jeremy Miller, and welcomed a daughter‑in‑law, Christina Miller, into the family. Ron's greatest joy came later in life with the arrival of his granddaughters, Hailey and Brooklyn, who brought out his warmest smiles and softest heart. To them, he was more than a grandfather-he was a hero, a playmate, and a constant source of love.
Ron had a lifelong passion for working on cars and was a proud and loyal Detroit Lions fan, cheering through every high and low with the same optimism he carried through life. Whether he was working in the yard, tinkering in the garage, or spending time with his grandkids, Ron found happiness in staying active and being present for the people he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Miller; his son, Jeremy Miller; his daughter‑in‑law, Christina Miller; his granddaughters, Hailey and Brooklyn Miller; his sister‑in‑law, Dessel Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Miller; his son, Sean Miller; his brothers, Kevin, Rob, and Ken; and his sister, Sharon.
Ron's legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he shared so generously. He will be remembered for his steady kindness, his hardworking nature, and the way he made every moment with family feel meaningful. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.
May he rest in peace.
