Ronald Alden Hutchinson, also known as Hutch, passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 71 in Wauseon, Ohio. Born on May 14, 1952, in Nashua, NH, Hutch was a loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather.


Hutch had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. He was an avid bow hunter, bowler, and huge fan of Nascar. Hutch’s dedication to his children was unwavering, as he actively participated in their extracurricular activities, whether it be coaching, refereeing, or cheering from the stands. He was a loving and supportive presence in their lives.


In addition to his hobbies, Hutch proudly served in the Army from January 9, 1970, to March 8, 1972, with one tour in Vietnam of seven months. He then re-enlisted December 2, 1974, and served until December 15, 1975. His military service was a testament to his bravery and dedication to his county.


Hutch is survived by his wife Laurie (Foote) Hutchinson, and his children: Jake (Kasey) Hutchinson, Luke (Katie) Hutchinson, Amie (James) Flickinger, and Brian Hutchinson. He was a cherished grandfather to Jacob, Nolan, Lily, Isabella, Charlotte, Victoria, Lukas, Markus, Ciarra, Wyatt, Davin, Noah, Mason, Caleb, Gracelynn, and Emberly. Hutch is also survived by his sister Deb (Spencer) Libby, sister Patty Clark, and Don (Patty) Hutchinson.


He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Margaret and Ira Nunley.


A memorial service to honor Hutch’s life will be held on February 10, 2024, at the Wauseon VFW Post 7424 located at 1133 N. Ottokee St, Wauseon, OH 43567, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.


Hutch will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
