Ronald "Ron" Hindman, a cherished member of the Toledo, Ohio community, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on April 24, 1947, Ron spent his entire life in Toledo, where he became a beloved figure known for his unwavering dedication to education, his entrepreneurial ventures, and his artistic talents.


Ron was a proud graduate of Toledo Public Schools, having completed his high school education at Libby High School. He pursued higher education at the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University, where he cultivated a deep passion for learning that would define his career. For 28 years, Ron dedicated himself to teaching electronics and power mechanics at Toledo Public Schools, retiring from Bowsher High School. His commitment to education and his students was unparalleled, and he inspired countless young minds with his enthusiasm and dedication. Ron's influence extended beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the many students who had the privilege of learning from him.


In addition to his career in education, Ron, alongside his beloved wife Linda, was a successful entrepreneur. Together, they operated R & L Concessions for over 30 years, becoming a staple at local events, gatherings, and fairs. Their delicious steak sandwiches, steak fries, and funnel cakes were not only a source of sustenance but also a means of bringing people together, fostering a sense of community and joy.


Ron was also a talented artisan, particularly skilled in the craft of stained glass. His artistic creations were admired by many and reflected his keen eye for beauty and detail. His work in stained glass was a testament to his creativity and his ability to find beauty in the world around him.


Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Linda, and their children, son R.J. and daughter Sandy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie "Marie" Hindman. Ron's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished the time spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.


Ronald Hindman will be remembered for his dedication to education, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his artistic contributions. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He was a man of integrity, kindness, and creativity, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.


In accordance with Ron's wishes, he will be cremated, and the family plans to honor his memory with a "carney party" in the spring or summer, celebrating his love for community gatherings and the joy he found in bringing people together. This celebration will be a fitting tribute to a man who lived his life with passion and purpose, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
