Ronald A. Brynelsen "Skip" of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday June 17, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital, with his girlfriend, April, by his side.
Skip was born November 19, 1955, in Henry County, Napoleon, Ohio, to Wesley H. and Esther L. (Boyer) Brynelsen.
Skip joined the U.S. Airforce, working on Emergency fire equipment. He then transferred to the U.S. Army, as a heavy equipment operator. He was Honorably discharged. Skip worked at Dana for 19 years and NSS Enterprises, Inc. for 34 years before retiring in 2021. He was a Local 12 member.
Skip enjoyed chartering fishing boats on Lake Erie and fishing off of the piers. He played billiards and liked NASCAR, Indy Car and Drag racing. He also enjoyed watching animal and nature programs. Skip was also a licensed certified scuba diver. Skip liked spending time at home with his dogs, Trixie and Izzy, and also enjoyed eating out.
Proceeded in death by his parents; and siblings, Bud and Deb.
Skip is survived by longtime girlfriend and partner of 44 years, April Warner; and April's family, that he considered family; siblings Ruth, Jeri and Steve.
Donations can be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
April wishes to thank the Surgeons, Drs and nurses at St. Vincent Hospital for the care they provided for Skip.
