Ron Tarasiewicz

Ron Tarasiewicz, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, June 15 after a long battle with kidney disease. He was a graduate of Whitmer High School and received a degree in history from the University of Toledo. Ron worked for the postal service for a time but spent most of his career with the Lucas County Sheriffs Department, where he was a counselor and Deputy Sheriff. He will most be remembered for his quick wit and brilliant mind. He was so smart and knowledgeable about so many things, a great debater who loved a good discussion. Ron loved working for unions and spent many years advocating for the rights of others. He never backed down from a challenge, always maintaining the courage of his conviction. As a friend there was none better, generous, loyal and kind. He was always there when you needed him, helping you to believe in yourself when you needed it most. He loved animals and was an excellent craftsman.Ron is survived by his brothers, Joe and Brad; special friends, Deb Whiting and Mary Hollis; and his cat, Jerry. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to nurses, Linda, Melissa, and Laura for their wonderful care.
