Obituary

Rochell Moore was born on August 12, 1963 in St. Louis, MO to Roy and Evelyn Moore. Rochell passed away at the age of 63 on October 7, 2026 in Toledo, OH after an extended illness.Ro-chell was baptized into Christian faith at Kingsway Baptist Church as a young adult and later held membership at Abundant Life Fellowship. Rochell was known for her passion for freelance writing, poetry, sales, and advocacy.

She graduated from Charles Sumner High School in 1982 where she enthusiastically served as the mighty fighting bulldog mascot leading Sumner in the Mayday parade as she danced through the Ville neighborhoods from 1979 until her graduation. She always danced like no one was watching! Voted Most Sociable for her senior superlatives, Rochell was always smiling and the life of the party. She later attended the University of Kansas and then completed a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Education from Harris Stowe State College. She worked for various employers including the St. Louis Public Library, NIE Insurance, and Aflac. She was a member of the Top Ladies of Distinction and served as a member of the St. Louis Public School Board from 2001-2004.

Though she later faced deep challenges, Rochell remained resilient and resourceful in the midst of her struggles. She reunited with her family, and relocated to Ohio, near her siblings. Even in the midst of her struggles she always showed love towards her family in her own special way. Rochell was a caring, thoughtful, beloved sister and aunt who enjoyed celebrating Christmas and remembering the birthdays of her family members. She adored her nieces and nephews and loved to share baked goods and other meals with them. She could make a mean pot of chicken noodle soup and loved to bake cakes, cookies and pies. She always had a word of advice, which many of her early lessons helped pave the way for us to live productive and positive lives.

Rochell is survived by her brother, Rodell Moore; sisters, Christine Moore and Irene (Tony) Blue, of Toledo; nieces and nephews, Lledor (Tiffany) Moore, of Brooklyn, NY, Llechor (DeAndre) Williams, of Dallas, TX, Joshua and Evelyn Blue of Toledo, OH and a host of relatives, friends and loved ones who hold her memories dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy and mother, Evelyn Moore; grandparents, Eugene and Irene Moore, Clarence Morris Sr., and Christine Walker Burnette. In lieu of flowers, consider donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care or the family to assist with service needs.
