Roberta "Bobbie" Joyce Lesner was born September 30, 1948 in McVeigh, Kentucky and went on to glory on September 15, 2022. Her family fled the coal town in the middle of the night when she was five, resettling in Harvey, IL with relatives. Roberta was a hard worker and entrepreneur her whole life, starting jobs outside the home at nine years old. She was a meat packer, cake decorator and owner of a cleaning services company and an in-home day care. After moving to Toledo fifteen years ago to be closer to her daughter, she worked for Meijer until her retirement in 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jewel (Waters) Conley; husband, Edward Richard Lesner; and siblings Kay, Forrest, Steve and Alice. She is survived by daughter, Meshelle Lesner (Cathie Slabaugh); brother, Jim Conley; sister, Carol Riccardi; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Bobbie loved the Lord, was a devout church-goer and was eager to share the love of Jesus with everyone she met. Family was the most important thing to her. She enjoyed cooking, regularly hosting family meals and gatherings at her home. She would use any excuse to have them over. She also adored children, treating every child she met as her own. Memorial contributions can be made to the Special Commission on Relief & Education (SCORE), PO Box 715, Maumee, OH 43537 or www.scorefat.com
