Robert A. Wojtas

April 2, 1949 — May 27, 2025

Robert "Bob" Allan Wojtas, age 76, born in Chicago, Illinois on April 2, 1949 to Alexander S. and Irene R. (Lulkowski) Wojtas passed away surrounded by family at Otterbein Sunset House in Toledo, OH on May 27, 2025.

He attended Saint Solomea Catholic School, Scanlan Elementary then Chicago Vocational High School. As a self-proclaimed "jack of all trades, master of none," he had a variety of life experiences, known as a pool shark, but made an honest living as a carpet installer then retired from GM Powertrain after 30 years of service between the Chicago and Defiance, OH plants. Getting to retire earlier than most, he had many notable hobbies involving fishing and hunting. His family will miss him sharing his catch at the family fish fry's. A member of the Defiance Fish and Game Club, he participated in many trap shoots coming home many times not empty handed. He was a great cook passing on Polish traditions and foods to his children. The kind of man who little children and animals gravitated towards often becoming a "honorary" Grandpa to neighbor families, a Godfather to others and loved his grandpups. Near the end he enjoyed watching nature or his favorite tv series "Gunsmoke" while drinking a cup of coffee. He was also a very generous man giving financially for decades to his favorite charities: St. Jude Children's, Shriner's, Marines Toys for Tots, Wounded Warrior Project, NRA and many more.

Surviving are his sons, Robert A. Wojtas (Holly Marty) and Alexander S. Wojtas II (Adam Sensabaugh); daughter, Julia (Matt) Henry; and his beloved grandchildren, Keegan, Dominic and Lillia Henry. Preceding his death are his parents and brothers, Alvin J. Wojtas and Wayne F. (Sharon) Wojtas.

A private service will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetary in Calumet City, Illinois.
