Robert Charles Spangler, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was called home to be with Jesus peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 74.
Robert was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and faithfully served his church through his gift of music, often blessing others by playing the piano during worship services. He was a gifted electrician by trade and was known for his strong work ethic, practical wisdom, and willingness to help anyone in need. A natural storyteller, Robert enjoyed sharing memories, laughter, and life lessons with family and friends. He was generous, kind-hearted, and deeply patriotic, holding a profound love for his country and appreciation for the freedoms it represents.
Above all, Robert cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. Robert is survived by his daughter, Angeline Noel Spangler-Brown and her husband, Mark; his grandsons, Jason Robert Spangler and Justin William Brown; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Canaan, Evalynn, Gideon, Isabella, and London.
He is also survived by his sister, Linda Lee Spangler-Tucker and her husband, Gerald, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jill Anita Lambert-Spangler; his sister, Patricia Lynn Spangler-Bowen; his father, Robert Clair Spangler; and his mother, Gladys Mae Roth-Spangler. Robert’s life was marked by faith, love, generosity, and service to others.
He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to God, dedication to family, and kindness toward all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and he will be greatly missed until the day of joyful reunion. A celebration of life will be held at Bono Baptist Church on Saturday June 27, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. lunch to follow at the church. Final resting place is at Roselawn Memorial Park.
