Robert (Bob) W. Snyder, 74, of Toledo, Ohio died peacefully on September 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 29, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Albert R. Snyder and Maxine J. (Newnam) Snyder. Bob was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, and he will be missed by all who loved him. Bob graduated from Woodward High School in 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Toledo Edison. Bob loved being outdoors, especially taking his daily walks. Through his years he enjoyed coaching youth hockey, fishing, sailing, and ice boating. He was a lifetime member of Toledo Ice Yacht Club and River View Yacht Club. Bob was also a member of the American Legion Post #110. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed and enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship of his buddies. His grandchildren were loved and prized by him, his silliness always made them laugh. He will be missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Karen A. (Kritzer-Scarlato) Snyder; children, Christopher (Holly) Snyder and Stacy (Charles) Strouse; step-children, Tony (Jaylene) Scarlato and Jennifer (Bernard) Tekiele. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Alex, Mary and Brooke Snyder, Joseph and Spencer Strouse, Milana and Nico Scarlato, and Brinly and Bernie Tekiele. He is also survived by his only sibling and younger brother, Dan (Tana) Snyder, as well as a nephew and three nieces. A Celebration of Life will be held October 20th, 2018 at the home of Dan and Tana Snyder, 2062 Hoops Drive, Toledo, OH 43611, from 2-6pm with Veteran Honors at 4pm per Bob’s wishes. The time will be spent remembering the good times, sharing laughs, libations, and food.
