Robert E Smith

Robert Edmund Smith, age 82, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away June 22, 2022 at Aspen Grove in Lambertville, MI. He was born November 15, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to Edmund and Mary (Neskoski) Smith. Bob proudly served his country in the US Navy. After the military, he served his state as an Ohio State Trooper for 5 years. Bob had a 35-year long career as an adjuster for Motorists Mutual Insurance Company. In his retirement he took joy in volunteering at The Village Players Theatre, The American Red Cross and the Area Office on Aging. He also worked at the University of Toledo Medical Center as a proctor. Bob is survived by his wife, Marian Smith; children, Melissa (Don) Smith Monich, Timothy Smith, Marc Smith (Lulu Rosales), and Amy (Tom) Smith Bentley; grandchildren, Katie (Matt) Monich McKillen, John Monich, Lydia Bentley, and Jack Bentley; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, and Chloe McKillen; siblings, Mary Jo Smith, Martin (Debbie) Smith, and Helen (Pete) Smith Phillips. A Memorial Service for Bob will be held at a later date.
